Thanks Indian Express for suppoting the Mumbai Twestival with a lovely coverage. Special thanks to Dipanita Nath of Indian Express.
Here is the Indian Express coverage of Mumbai Twestival:
It’s that time of the year when members of the micro-blogging site Twitter gather offline to celebrate a special festival called Twestival. “People like us, called Tweeps or Tweeple, finally get to see the faces behind the names we have been following. Total strangers become friends or business associates. The best part of the party is that it is for a cause. The funds collected at these gathering will be sent to local charities,” says Abhishek Baxi, convenor of the Delhi edition.
Twestival turns two this year and India has added to the numbers. Last year, the festival was restricted to Delhi and Mumbai, this time it will be held in Ahmedabad, Pune and Bangalore as well. Globally, the festival can be held on any day between September 10 and 13. “The Delhi party is on Saturday, and the charity we’re supporting is the Khushboo Welfare Society which provides care and support to ‘special’ individuals,” says Ashish Chopra of the Delhi Bloggers and New Media Society which is organising the festival.

Twestival – and no that’s not a typo – this year, takes place from 10-13 September in cities around the world.
If you’re wondering what a Twestival is, the name should offer up a clue: it’s a Twitter festival. People around the world connect online and then meet up offline to raise money or awareness for a cause.

Thanks Hindustan Times for suppoting the Mumbai Twestival with a lovely coverage. Special thanks to Sneha Mahale of HT.
Here is the HT coverage of Mumbai Twestival:
A new Twitter-based festival is aiming to help local charities and businesses. Named Twestival, it is described as a Twitter fest that will happen around the world next weekend from September 10-13. The motive behind the festival is to encourage people to shop at their favourite businesses, donate to a local charity, and let everyone know about the cause.
The festival concept came about in September last year, when a group of London Twitter users decided to host an event called the Harvest Twestival. The fest was sponsored entirely by tweeters (as Twitter users are referred to). Via this network, the group was able to raise money and canned food for a London based non-profit organisation called The Connection.

As a Mumbaikar one of our favorite time killer is shopping, yeah they don’t call us stylish for nothing
We love Shoppers Stop for the same reason it helps us to stay in style. Since Mumbai Twestival is like the most styliest (I know that is not English but it makes sense to us Mumbaikars) Tweetup how could Shoppers Stop stay away from it.
Now, 10 (yes 10) lucky tweeps tonight will win vouchers worth Rs2,500 each (yeah that makes prizes worth Rs25,000) for a makeover at Shoppers Stop Bandra. Isn’t that wow! No I think that is AWoWsome!
If you have still not RSVPed for the Rocking Twitter Meetup of Mumbai then you can do it here: http://hop.im/gP Btw just a word of caution, attending this tweetup might change you forever!

It is not a hidden fact that we Mumbaikars love movies and we can watch almost anything that is running in the cinemas. So it is not a surprise either that we love Wogma as it shares the same passion, watching movies.
Wogma and the lady behind wogma, Meetu will be part of the Mumbai Twestival and you stand a chance to win a pass to watch a movie with Wogma and later on your review will be featured on the Wogma as well.
This prize is worth fighting for!
If you have still not RSVPed for the Biggest Twitter Meetup of Mumbai then you can do it here: http://hop.im/gP Btw don’t mind me asking but what were you waiting for till now?
